For its first edition, the VivaTechnology Paris show had left a lasting impression, as no one expected to see so many innovations and innovative people in one place. The surprise was total because the result had exceeded expectations. The future was no longer a hypothetical vision of the world but a very concrete reality visible to all. The second edition, the 2017 vintage, was no exception to the rule and can be described as grandiose to the point of becoming essential on a European and global scale, and to the point of being hailed by the global press because the record of this event speaks for itself:
- 68,000 visitors
- 6,000 startups
- 1,400 investors
- 50 exhibiting countries
An opportunity for Startup.live, 24H00.info and more broadly the Founder Family to cover the event for the second consecutive year. From futuristic drones to children learning to speak code, a new living language, the wonder was 360 degrees over 3 days.
On this theme, the startup Play’n’Code innovated to the point of allowing children to code a game while having fun. Coding through gamification. See for yourselves!
This event is truly proof that the future is today and everything you could have imagined was here, like these exceptional sneakers. Digitsole, a French startup, developed a pair of totally futuristic sneakers, an improved version of what you could see in the very famous Back to the Future II. Even Marty McFly couldn’t have dreamed of better and we let you discover this marvel.
You won’t believe it and we understand, but we are indeed in 2017 and innovation must be inclusive and provide solutions. The startup RogerVoice understood this well because it allows something totally unthinkable until now, namely allowing deaf people to make phone calls. Surprised? Watch for yourself:
Among the 6,000 startups present, African startups made the trip, including Drone Africa Service which puts the drone in all its states and deploys it in a considerable number of fields. The drone here is much more than a tool for videographers or photographers:
Africa is always there with JokkoSanté, a startup that creates the first collective pharmacy by allowing people to drop off all medications in one place to ensure equal access to care.
We remain in the field of health with MedTrucks which brings an effective solution to medical deserts. Indeed, it is no longer the patient who travels kilometers to consult a doctor but the hospital that comes to the patient. How? It’s up to you to discover it here:
Exceptional is the word you have in mind and we keep it to present this world first, namely a drone race at the Longchamp racecourse with jockeys located at VivaTech, at Porte de Versailles, which is 6KM away. An idea of what the races and bets of tomorrow will be? Completely dematerialized racecourses? The answer in a short time at this speed.
Even more exceptional and immersive is what characterizes the startup Silkke, the figurehead of avatar automation. Behind this term lies the possibility of having one’s own avatar and using it in a game or private messaging. Innovation is a source of immersion but we let you discover that right away.
Beyond innovations, VivaTech was the occasion for the StartupLive team to interview and meet people playing a vital role in entrepreneurship and the startup ecosystem at a global level. Rebecca Enonchong is one of those people who shines internationally and supports the tech ecosystem. She is at the origin of the development of tech hubs like AfriLabs, whose board of directors she chairs, a pan-African network of 50 innovation centers operating across 20 African countries. She thus allows African startups to have access to funding to realize their ideas. We will say no more and let you discover this exceptional woman.
Innovation also means jobs, and in this respect, the event was an opportunity to organize a job dating worthy of the name with no less than 500 positions, all of which were filled. Add to that the presence among the 500 speakers of Daniel Zhang, CEO of Alibaba, but also Yang Yuanqing, CEO of Lenovo, and Bernard Arnault, head of the LVMH group. So many people who are sources of innovation. This international event in the heart of the City of Light was only possible through the will and determination of one person in particular. A passionate entrepreneur who had the idea and the desire to make Paris live to the rhythm of innovation. Maurice Levy is this man with overflowing positive energy and is the engineer of this extraordinary event. Discover him here.
VivaTechnology Paris had to be animated by the energy and talent of certain people who can be described as organizational and communication architects. Among them, Yael Kusch-Stassart, Director of Communications and Media Partnerships for VivaTechnology, her central role was vital for the conduct of this event. Discover the architect:
VivaTechnology is a very special event because large groups rub shoulders and collaborate with startups without distrust but on the basis of complementarity. Here innovation is everyone’s business. The event was held with 2 days in B to B and a final day in B to C open to the general public to highlight the inclusive nature of innovation but also of this event. We can add to that a gigantic hackathon in the style of VivaTech which has made and will continue to make a name for itself.
Startup.live and 24H00.info covered this event for you, both on a TV set located in the press room and at the heart of VivaTechnology through interviews.
We’ll see you next year but Startup.live never sleeps and invites you to its YouTube channel to see all the VivaTechnology videos and upcoming events.
