Verint Systems Inc. is an American software vendor whose products are designed to improve customer relationship management. Historically based in Melville, New York, the company notably equips the contact centers of large organizations. Its solutions enable businesses to analyze conversations, support agents and automate certain tasks. Its positioning combines data use, workforce management and artificial intelligence, with an operational goal: handling requests more efficiently while keeping costs and service quality under control.

From roots in analytics to a strategic refocus

Founded in 1994 as Comverse Infosys, the company adopted the Verint name and listed on Nasdaq in 2002. Its growth has been built on communications recording and analytics technologies, applied in both business and security settings. Acquisitions have gradually broadened its scope: Witness Systems strengthened its contact center management and evaluation tools, while KANA brought customer service and knowledge management solutions.

In 2021, Verint spun off its intelligence and cybersecurity operations into an independent company, Cognyte. This move clarified its identity around customer engagement. In 2025, Thoma Bravo announced the acquisition of Verint, making the vendor part of the consolidation trend in the business software market.

Analyzing, assisting and automating interactions

Verint’s offering covers several aspects of customer service operations. Speech and text analytics tools help identify reasons for contact, recurring difficulties and signs of dissatisfaction. Workforce management features help forecast request volumes and organize schedules. Other modules facilitate the assessment of interaction quality, compliance with procedures and agent training.

The company also develops assistants and software agents that specialize in specific tasks: finding information, guiding an agent during a conversation or producing a summary after an interaction. Its open platform aims to integrate these capabilities into existing infrastructure, without necessarily requiring the replacement of the telephony system or customer relationship management software. This approach addresses the constraints of large companies, whose technology environments often combine multiple vendors.

What next?

For Verint, the challenge is to turn the rise of generative AI into measurable operational gains. The relevance of responses, reduced administrative work and the ability to resolve a request matter more than simply increasing the number of automated processes. However, the vendor operates in a competitive market where contact center specialists, cloud companies and business software providers intersect.

Data protection, decision traceability and continued access to human assistance will be decisive factors in deployments. Verint’s ability to integrate its tools, demonstrate their effectiveness and support changes in the way people work will be a key factor in its development.
