Creativity is the key to all entrepreneurial success. Since the beginning of humanity, we have created, built, and innovated. Alone or in a group, we do it for survival, comfort, or to improve daily life. For example, the invention of the telephone allowed us to reduce distances, thereby regaining time spent in long journeys. Later, still linked to this same telephone, the Internet and more broadly the “blog + social networks” combo allowed creativity to be released and shared with a population that exceeds one’s close circle (the telephone did not stop at its use as voice transport: it evolved). Yet, seeing certain websites or applications, one notices a glaring lack of creativity: it doesn’t matter if the user has a good or bad time, as long as the service exists. You create your “Facebook Page”, the famous Facebook page; either on your own initiative or on the advice of people who are no more expert than you in the matter, thinking that everything is done and that your activity will be known because it is seen by thirty people. Among these people, you invited your Facebook friends, your digital friends, to like your page, which gives few people interested in your activity.
At this point in the article, I ask you to look at the number of invitations to like pages that you have received and to which you have not responded.
You will be impressed to see all these invitations… without a response from you because they are like messages in a bottle. Liking a page or a person’s account must mean that the product or service interests you and that the sender has taken the time to explain this activity to you and invites you to be part of their entrepreneurial or artistic adventure.
Regarding people who stop at creating a page on Facebook, I regret and have the frankness to tell you that you are not very creative because if you were, you would have set up a strategy worthy of the name, created a logo, visuals, a site with colors and an appearance that look like you. Much more than a digital showcase, an interface that says who you are and invites dialogue. You can tell your story, that of your products and services, interact with visitors to your site, in a few words: create a community. The latter will be your rampart against intruders but will above all be there to make your products known and ultimately become the best ambassadors of your brand. Storytelling is essential and therefore indispensable to captivate emotion.
Are you with me?
You are no longer alone and you allow others to create content and co-create with you. Your company is no longer seen as an inaccessible entity. It has become an open and innovative city. Innovation has information sharing and the convergence of minds as its cornerstone. Your digital presence will be the relay of your site and its complement. This will allow you to use your creativity, on Instagram for example, by creating posts with colors that are yours and allow you to be identified and win support. Hashtags will mark out your universe and your values. Here it is a question of content and your digital activity is only worth as much as the content. It is what will be read, seen, and shared and it is only the content that can create an emotional relationship between your brand, your company, and the people who make up your community, those to come. To summarize, the people who bring your activity to life by interacting with you must become an integral part of your story. They must be able to contribute their own writing. This is exactly what you must do: spark creativity and constructive comments. Here we are talking about storymaking and we are talking about community!
More broadly, your creativity will lead you not to go onto the field of a giant like Amazon but rather to respond in the most brilliant way to one, or even several, pain points that people have experienced for decades. This same creativity will prevent you from spending colossal sums on sponsored posts. These, too widely used, no longer bring you much and on the contrary, cost you a lot: the more you do, the more the cost increases. Think about content, think about yourself, and do things in your own image: your conversion rate and your results will be surprising.
“Think Different”: a well-known slogan. I add to it: “Think Creativity”
