Facebook ensures it offers authentic and non-intrusive content to its users. To ensure this, the social network is once again introducing a novelty that will not please Community Managers: the banning of calls to action.
Indeed, according to a study conducted by Facebook, publications containing a call to action (“Like if you agree”, “Tag a friend who relates” or “Vote for X or Y in the comments”) do not appeal to internet users. The latter prefer authentic content that leaves them the choice to like/share the proposed content or not.
Since December 2017, Facebook has been detecting posts containing a call to action. Pages relying heavily on these techniques will suffer a drop in engagement as they will automatically be displayed less frequently.
An alternative solution: pay for more advertising to be seen!
