VivaTech is first and foremost the trade show for bold startups, and the 2025 edition revealed its share of futuristic gems. During the new Global Awards ceremony (organized with TechCrunch), the Startup Innovation of the Year award was presented to Chipiron, a young French company developing a portable and affordable MRI. Its ambition: to make medical imaging as accessible as X-rays, thanks to innovative quantum technology, a bold project praised for its tangible impact. Other finalists and winners illustrated the incredible diversity of innovations in competition. We saw solutions that transform a pair of glasses into a guide for the visually impaired, photonic chips likely to disrupt computing, and even processes to convert mining waste into carbon sinks. Swarms of micro-robots for space exploration, AI capable of reading your thoughts to control objects, or bioelectronic implants against brain cancer—so many concepts worthy of science fiction that were very real among the 30 selected startups. This abundance of ideas impressed the jury, which recognized the extraordinary creativity and disruption potential of these startups. “Choosing a winner was almost impossible because the level was so high,” an organizer shared. In the end, every startup in this 2025 batch leaves as a winner in terms of visibility. They used VivaTech as a springboard to move from dream to reality and perhaps become the next technological champions of tomorrow.
